Guest guest
Peg, I've found through my experience with nerve damage that it is possible not to feel a burn, a puncture, or a cut. I've received burns from cooking and didn't realize I'd done it until I discovered the blister and it left scars even after healing! Nerve damage is a tricky thing. Areas that were once sensitized can become desensitized and those that weren't sensitive can become a painful site. As a rule it really isn't a good idea to sleep with a heating pad on even set at low. It may make you feel better, but the consequences aren't. If I may make a suggestion, try using a hot water bottle or pad at night and use your heating pad during the day when you are more alert to overheating. Or a gel pack which will gradually cool down and maybe you'll have less chances of a burn or blistering. Hope this helps. Try putting some aloe vera on the blister site after the blisters have gone down it will help with itching and decrease scarring. J. --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
