Guest guest
I don't have anything big enough to put a cell phone inside. Perhaps you could coil silver jewelery chains around your cell phone to mimic a mesh? ;-) I believe that any solid sheet metal (even perforated) will block the signal. Not sure why my phone still rang inside my steel file cabinet at work though - perhaps because the open gaps in front of the drawers were long, as opposed to the round holes of the sheet metal strainer/colander. The difference in the sheet stainless and the mesh makes me question the RF blocking abilities of any metal mesh. But there is no doubt stainless steel mesh works fantastically to block EMR though. I was totally stunned with those results! At the moment I don't have the money or a bedroom configuration to consider a fariday for my son, so I'm not going to ask them to send me a sample. I'd be happy to test the hell out of any metal mesh that comes to a home in the bay area though! Side note - I'm thinking about getting a big stainless steel strainer, cutting out the mesh and bending it to make a little pouch for my cell phone. It will block the huge EMR from the device itself, but not the incoming RF so I can still receive calls. A little practical application from my experiments. > > : > > Thanks.
