Guest guest Posted February 13, 2002 Report Share Posted February 13, 2002 Bought a machine recently that filters water as well as making it more alkaline- pH of 8.5 to 9.0. The water is very smooth and delicious tasting. Noticed an interesting side effect. I love and eat a lot of asparagus, which of course produces smelly urine. But since drinking alkaline water, when I eat asparagus, I don't get this side effect. I'm curious why. I wonder if asparagus is very acidic which produces the smell, and the water neutralizes it.
