Guest guest
Here's a question that I feel slightly foolish about asking: Does Wheatgrass contain gluten? I am very tempted to try it, but it sounds like a longterm addition to my diet... and there's so much contradictory info. For example, I can't figure out if Echinacea is good or bad for me. I hope these things will begin to make more sense to me soon! cheers, ~Audrey --- Arnold wrote: wrote: >Hi , > >I am actually a raw foods eater but I didnt know about wheatgrass. Up where I live, they charge $2.00 per ounce. I started off at one ounce a day, but I am up to two, and trying to get up to four ounces a day in me. I have to admit, I hate the taste of it, but the more I get my system in balance, the easier it is to drink. I have become a bit of a " connoseur " (don't know how to spell that!), but I do notice a difference with wheatgrass that is grown in organic compost as opposed to regular potting soil. My husband and I now grow our own at home. Very easy, and much cheaper. You do need to invest in a specific juicer for wheatgrass. Looks like the old fashioned meat grinders. Good Luck! I don't think anyone knows for sure - I keep reading conflicting reports. BUT, I am staying away from it, because I know my immune system is always over active. (I haven't had a cold for about 9 years.) Some people I know, who have MS, are always getting sick, so I would think it would be of benefit to them......but not for me. I do know that people who have wheat allergies do not have a problem with juicing wheatgrass. I " ll try to find out more info. P.S. I have also heard from a friend of mine who has Lupis that she finds her symptoms worsen dramatically after taking Echinacea. She attributes this to the plant being a stimulant for auto-immune functioning, and she considers Lupis to be an over-active immune problem, so all of her treatments consist of trying to supress her immune system rather than stimulate it. I have heard this line of thinking for M.S. as well. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with our immune systems: I think they are doing exactly what they are supposed to do, I think the problem lies within the poisening and imbalance of our whole system so that our immune systems are given the wrong cues. Therefore my focus is not to suppress or stimulate my immune system, but to fix the imbalances in my overall health. If anything, I attempt to strengthen my immune system as much as possible. Guest guest
Elaine and list.....I took baclofen some years ago and all it seemed to accomplish for me was keep me totally bedridden. Even when I weaned myself to one quarter of a tablet, I was totally useless. Please believe me when I say that those doctor prescribed drugs are complete poison! I gave up on them long ago and get better results from wildcrafted, home tinctured herbs. Betsy Betsy, I agree, but, I use diet, not herbs. I don't even take aspirin.
