Guest guest
My one son weaned himself suddenly when he was about 6 months, and I had to do a quick job of teaching him to drink from a cup, as I remember. He just didn't want to nurse any longer! I never knew why. I don't think there was any problem with lack of milk. Guest guest
Hi, Jess-- I don't know about Sally's case, but my daughter, too, at about 8 months had no patience at all for breastfeeding. She wanted to keep in motion!! (She always had been a fast and impatient nurser, ready to get back to play!) Yes, we were feeding her some solids at that time. Even now, at 2 years old, she happily drinks her milk from a sippy cup, on the run: run, sip-sip, run, sip-sip... Hopefully, we'll be able to give her all the nutrition she needs, one way or another! Good luck! Or did she just up and refuse one day and that was it? Thanks for your time! I'm trying to get my 7-month old back on track but having not-so-great success! Guest guest
Thanks, . In regards to the topic on breastfeeding, teeth, and diet: I was wondering, since it's been noted that someone thought it to be not only diet, but also the sucking time that babies have that increases palate and jaw size, whether bottle sucking helps with that too? I've also read a lot lately that once you introduce solids to a baby, you should, at the same time, introduce a cup (I guess so they learn to do both pretty quick). To me, this theory doesn't make sense with trying to give your baby enough sucking time. Wouldn't it be better, if unable to breastfeed, to give a bottle rather than a cup for baby's palates sake??? Any thoughts? Jess
