Guest guest
Hi Everyone I am here to invite those that wish to come to an informal gathering at my home on Saturday February 18th, 2006 from 2 pm to 5 pm. I was initially thinking that I would host it in the evening but since so many are coming from a distance, I think that this would be easier for travel. Doris' ideas about bringing some nibblies sounds great. I will leave it up to you what to bring, but let's try to keep it to finger foods so there is not too much work. I will provide tea, coffee and juice. Feel free to bring anything else you might want to drink. If you are interested in coming to this event, please email me at skward2@... and I will give you the exact address and directions to get here. If you email me personally I will directly respond to your email. I do not wish to post all the information to the yahoogroup board, so please send me a personal email and don't forget your name in case it is not clear in your email address. I will be travelling the next morning to Washington D.C. so if anyone would like to bring along a picture of themselves and their loved one along with a message for those that I meet, I will be sure to pass on the greetings! Perhaps I can provide a photo album that we can pass around at the meeting and everyone can put in their message/pictures. What do you think? I am open to anything we would like to discuss, but I think it is going to take us awhile just introducing ourselves and telling a bit about our LBD journey. This may prompt individual discussions on an informal level. For example, someone who would like to talk about end of life issues might learn from someone else's journey that they want to talk to them personally about that issue. Someone who wants to know about purchasing a wheelchair might wish to speak to someone who has already done this. We might all benefit from some discussions but we don't have that much time. I could put up a piece of paper and anyone wishing to discuss something specific could write it down and others could add to it, or check beside it. That way we have a list of pressing issues and also a basis for another meeting. How's that sound? Kath in Toronto
