Guest guest
Hi Les, Thank you for your reply, and also for the offer to write you privately. I may just do that. ) It's frightening to hear that you were getting better until you started on a different med. That's what my doctor wants to do too, and I'm terrified. What if I get worse than I already am??? I'm just not willing to live out the rest of my life in this kind of pain, ya know? And the way I see it is, I'm 46, and have only developed high cholesterol recently. Something's gotta do me in eventually, so I would rather go by a heart attack, but have more quality of life now. Maybe that's the wrong mindset, but I'm just so afraid of getting worse. Dyanne Hi, Dyanne, I think you're right, you know your own body, and your intuition is warning you! My DR didn't believe my symptoms, put me on another statin, and here I am, permanently damaged. When you look at all the people damaged on this board, and other boards as well, you know this damage is wide spread. The drug companies are trying to keep this quiet. I printed out the article by the board of neurology, about how they have connected neuropathy to using statins in some people. With documented proof, there isn't much they can say ... sadly, the damage is already done , though . Keep in touch, Les.
Guest guest
Yes Jill, I think increased cholesterol is just another side effect from the lack of hormones in our bodies. And bone loss too. UGH! Just what we need, to be unsteady on our feet and already in pain, and then have our bones thinning too. DyanneJillie wrote: Dyanne, menopause made my cholesterol go up......I was about your age.....little older. I think it is a natural thing, or it wouldn't happen..... My mind set is like yours I'm afraid... Jill Or the worse possible scenario- a hysterectomy before menopause would have happened naturally! My cholesterol went up, and for the first time in my life, I had high blood pressure, and had to go on meds for that. Les.
Guest guest
That makes sense Linden. Our bodies really do need cholesterol, and even our brains are made up mostly of cholesterol. There has been some conspiracy theories on the darker side of government attempting to lower the cholesterol rates of citizens as a way to gain control over them in many ways. It's part of the NWO theme, for those who are interested. Dyanne OK, here's my conspiracy theory! The drug companies lost so much money when the truth came out about HRT and what it was doing to women, they needed another big money maker, so they lowered the healthy levels for cholesterol so many more thousands would be prescribed these toxic drugs, and are hoping that they make millions before the horrific truth comes out, that these drugs cause neuropathy, Alzheimer's, muscle wasting disease, and who knows what else they are doing to us! Guest guest
so the drug companies without a horse in the hrt race decided they would get into it too? Alzheimers was around before statins. Statins may also prove in the long run to help Alzheimer's. Neuropathy was around before statins. It is silly really to blame everything on the meds all the time. Are all drugs toxic? Here is what I don't get about this list. If cholesterol is good, why does anyone take anything for it. Why niacin, why Q10. Why not just let it go and let nature take it's course? I realize there needs to be victims and victimizers and so on, for your whole NWO conspiracy stuff to work out. ----- Original Message ----- what drug company do you own , work for or otherwise are involved in ?????????? Guest guest
Do you have the proof that a statin caused alzheimers? No of course you don't. This is a story that fits nicely into your hate statins and all statins are bad mantra. Yes people on statins get alzheimers disease. they also get broken legs. Did the statin cause them to break their leg? In your world I am sure the answer may be yes. I did not say statins cured alzhiemers. I have seen no where that a company claimed a statin would cure alzheimers. But you take these stories and extrapolate these claims just to frighten people. Am I saying statins are as safe as water? No of course not. But under the standards, world wide standards statins are safe if used correctly and they have helped millions of people. There once was a bread mold..................................some said it nasty. Others said penicillin. And it saved millions and millions of lives. Did the statin cause them to break their leg? In your world I am sure the answer may be yes. Do you have proof that they DON'T ????????? No, of course you don't . But I've visited quite a few boards that have quite a number of people who got alzheimers after going on the statins ,and I mean young people , too, with no alzheimers in their families . You are highly insulting , and you need to go on a board where there are others of your kind that can relate to you . Those of us here are in pain and suffering ,and we don't need someone like you ridiculing us . I have documented proof that the board of neurology concluded that statins do indeed cause neuropathy in some people !!! My neurologist agreed with their conclusion , so what do you have to say about that ! I did not say statins cured alzhiemers. I have seen no where that a company claimed a statin would cure alzheimers. But you take these stories and extrapolate these claims just to frighten people. Well, you haven't been reading a lot of newspapers lately, have you ! They do indeed promote statins as a preventive of alzheimers , my mistake saying it was a cure and not a preventive , but I don't see much of a difference . Am I saying statins are as safe as water? No of course not. But under the standards, world wide standards statins are safe if used correctly and they have helped millions of people. Yes, true, but they have also injured as many . There once was a bread mold..................................some said it nasty. Others said penicillin. Guest guest
No, I am not,but we all can brag, I know we can, and I KNOW how Lipitor affected me and I wish I could go back to my life BEFORE Lipitor, I wasn't bragging ,sorry if it seemed that way ; Matt accused me of being a trial lawyer, and I told him I was far from it, by telling him I come from a medical family ! I guess you got in on only part of what was going on , or are you a friend of his ???? Les .
Guest guest
Hey, you have a right to brag.,you have a great family. By coming in on the end of the conversation, I thought the person telling us about all the Medical people in the family was this Matt......No,I have no clue who he is but I think he belongs on the other board, Thanks for clearing this up! I think we're all mad at him, he doesn't belong here! I had never planned on mentioning who my family is, but when I asked him if he works for or owns a drug company, his retort was to ask me if I was a trial lawyer, so I wanted to make the point that this was in no way the reason that I was upset with what he was saying! Whew, I'm sure glad we cleared that up, I wouldn't want anyone to think I was him, LOL! Just to update you on who I am, I am Les, and I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy after taking first Crestor, and then Provachal. The neuropathy first appeared after taking Crestor, I went off the drug, the neuropathy went away, the DR put me on Provachal, the neuropathy returned with avengeance, and I'm in pain 24/7 . Les. Guest guest
PS, looks like Matt is indeed a drug rep, just as I thought ! My own father was one, and he believed in all the drugs he sold...they ended up killing him,he was on so many prescription drugs that they messed up his body and he died at the young age of 56 .
