Requests from the listowner

Hi,

While I do browse most every message that comes to the

list I'm not typically quick to respond or butt in as

I've got way too much going on in my life right now

and we're all pretty responsible in this community.

I would like to make a few requests with the aim of

keeping this list friendly, civil and on track.

1. Someone posted to this list a few days ago asking

me if encouraging people to introduce themselves

would be a good idea. Yes, of course it would be

a good idea. In a few days I'll post an intro

sharing my beliefs and experiences with NT.

2. Please please please be selective in what you cut

and paste into your replies. It's REALLY annoying

to read a one line reply that includes 100 lines of

other messages in the thread. If you're replying to

someone's 100 line message then please select the 5

or 10 or 20 lines of the message you're replying to

that are relevant. Yes, it takes more work but it

helps all of us focus.

3. Please keep personal attacks off the list. A couple

of people have come to me with concerns about the

tone of a posting. Coming to me is fine because it

keeps the fighting off the list. Of course I'd

prefer for you to handle these things without me

but

if you can't then please do contact me.

4. Don't broadcast messages intended for the listowner

to the list. Aubin and I both have magic powers but

I'm the primary person responsible for the list and

I'm much quicker to reply to personal messages than

to something posted on the list somewhere.

5. Don't reply to spam. Mail to the listowner about it

and I'll take care of it.

6. Let's all try to keep the list on track. While I

think it's fantastic that we explore all different

things related to health and nutrition I think the

whole thread of whether someone is anti-semitic or

not, for example, is way off track.

Thanks,

Sol
