chicken livers?

Well, I just made the pate from NT and loved it! Yay! a likable

liver recipe!! :)

My question is concerning buying chicken livers. The only local

place (I'm in GA) that I've found some is our Whole Foods store.

They are in the refrigerated case, and are Bell & brand. They

don't sound like true 'free-range' chickens, they just have larger

housing. What is the opinion on this brand and quality level?

Obviously I'd prefer local and fresh, truly organic free roaming

livers, but haven't found any roaming about here... :)

They are not frozen either, and I am a bit uncomfortable with that

also, as liver seems to be more perishable...

Bell and is pretty good... for regular liver. Their chickens are

still fed a crap diet, but if you can't get chicken livers from farmers who

let their chickens graze and eat bugs, you could do worse.
