Guest guest
Ursula, Could it be that reflux is the cause of Macey's present problems? I know that this has happened with both of my boys before. Just a thought, hope things improve soon. Autumn (Mark Cd5-Cd19 PID and )
Guest guest
Ursula, I have noticed with Autumn that the more neb treatments she gets, the more hoarse she sounds. I first thought this was reversed, but I read up on some of the meds and discovered that hoarseness was a side effect. Especially albuterol and antrovent. We mix .5 albuterol with 1 vial of atrovent every six hours and do xoponex in between the others (doing treatments every 3 hours). The reason we stopped mixing xoponex with atrovent is because the treatment took 30 minutes and it was almost impossible for Autumn to sit still that long. We are now down to Pulmicort 1 time per day and the hoarseness is also gone. Also, we got our appointment (finally!) for National Jewish Hospital. She supposed to see Dr. Mark Boguniewicz on Nov. 29, Dec. 4, & Dec. 6th. They may or may not do allergy testing while we're there. There's no way they can tell me what type of treatment/tests to expect, so we'll just play it by ear. We're also on the waiting list for the Mc house for the duration of our stay.
