Guest guest
Ursula- More than likely your husband's uncle is suffering from a low white count secondary to the chemo he received last week. Usually docs don't like to draw blood cultures from a central access because there is a high chance for the culture to come back positive and there may not be sepsis. Therefore, they usually draw blood cultures peripherally and if they come back positive it is assumed that there is a line sepsis and the line is pulled and the tip of it cultured. I hope that helped a bit and did not confuse you even further. Good luck and God bless.
