Guest guest
, When I was suggesting that my sister eat salmon roe, I knew she was in Seattle, where getting such should be no problem. I have been trying in N. Cal. and I think the best bet around here would be to go to someplace like Bodega Bay and talk to the fishermen.... Guest guest
- I, uh, probably should've mentioned I'm in NYC. <g> >When I was suggesting that my sister eat salmon roe, I knew she was >in Seattle, where getting such should be no problem. Guest guest
I'm in SF and I don't know if they'll ship, but I special ordered whole clumps of fish eggs, salmon roe, fresh, not farmed, from our local farmers market. It was very fresh, although I had no idea how to separate the eggs from the slimy, more fish-y smelly part - do you know? Their fish is the freshest, the greatest - " The Fresh Fish Company " 415/777-5900. I found the eggs delicate and delicious, but the slimy mucus part was not so tasty. If you know how to separate the eggs, I'd like to know, cause the slimy part kind of ruined it for me. I read on the web to use some kind of thick netting or wire mesh? Guest guest
>What part of the country do you live in? New York City. I should probably try a lox-and-caviar type of place, but so far the upscale food markets have all told me their salmon roe is farmed. -
