Guest guest
If this has been discussed here before, I apologize for not having read all the posts. I took 40 mg. Zocor daily for about 4 years. During that time, I had a gradual increase of numbness, tingling, pain and cramps in my feet, mostly my left one. My doctor had a test done that confirmed I indeed had pain, and told me I had peripheral neuropathy. Looking this up on my own, I find this is common among diabetics, and I am not one. I have not had muscle weakness or lethargy to any significant extent, nor do I feel my mental faculties have been affected - all of which from what I read are the primary " unrecognized " side effects of statins. I also have no leg pain. I am wondering if anyone else out there has had symptoms similar to mine? I went off Zocor about a month ago. For a week and a half, the pain in my feet totally disappeared. Now it returns infrequently. It got so bad while I was on the Zocor that it moved from being " just at night occasionally " to all day long every day. I went thru tubes of Aspercreme and Capsaicin ointment, and when they didn't work usually 3 aspirins would do the trick, but not always. I'd appreciate hearing any input.
