I would never use it to wash my food, even a few

drops, I have no idea why Sally says it's okay. I

understand it to be carcinogenic, and don't use it

anywhere in my house. It leaves a tenacious residue,

so I would not feel confident about being able to

rinse it off. Maybe Sally will see this and answer,

perhaps she has some additional info.

Ah! I see. From that site:

" Before cooking with them, soak all your fruits, eggs,

meats, and vegetables in a bath of Chlorox and water,

at the rate of 1 teaspoon Chlorox to 1 gallon water.

Make sure it is the old-fashioned, pure Chlorox; this

is hydrochloric acid, not chlorine. "

Chlorox to most people means chlorine bleach, since

that's what is sold under the Chlorox name in the

grocery store. I don't think I've ever seen a bottle

of Chlorox hydrochloric acid, although hydrochloric

acid is certainly available from other sources (still

not sure I'd want to wash my food in it). So, is

Sally referring to hydrochloric acid or to chlorine?

She says " Clorox bleach " in the book.
