Guest guest
Thanks Marie and Bianca and all. I've decided to resume low dose 5HTP (its already helped with the cravings today) while finding raw local (VA) unheated honey to arrive via mail and while bone broth simmering today. My dog has figured out that simmering day means she gets bones and she is sitting three feet from the stove barking her head (and my ears) off. : ) My friend Toni says thanks as well. Marie's tips helped her as well. Correction on my info to on the Tom Cowan pyramid. He actually called his a Medicine Pyramid and the bottom layer was 1/3 soulwork/movement and 2/3 food. The 2/3 food was in thirds as well, 1/3 animal products, 1/3 fruits and veggies, and 1/3 sprouted and soaked grains. The fruits and veggies were subdivided into 1/3's as well: 1/3 raw, 1/3 cooked, and 1/3 lacto-fermented. And this is just the base of the thing! My notes get really complicated from there and hopefully Tom will supply us with his version one day instead of my scribbles of what I think he said. The higher layers talk of things that help when one's health is already compromised such as extracts, herbs, supplements, sea salt, and dare I give it away.., drugs. The highest level, the peak, is the thing medically you would use least often: surgery, artificial parts, organ transplants. I thought it was a thoughtful presentation and I hope we see it in wise traditions one day. A food strategy he came up with went over well for the overwhelmed (me): try to make your meal plates look food distributed as above for each meal. Then you don't have to think as much. You wouldn't have to balance throughout a day or over days and weeks. It is a good way to get started if you are so inundated with info you become paralyzed and choose to not eat at all or go back to chinese take out.
