Hi Darlene!

I am so sad to see you are also so young dealing with chronic pain and also

dealing with drs who cant figure out what is going on. I myself and pretty

young. I am 27now but was about your age or 22 when i first got hurt. I fell

down a flight of stairs at my inlaws home and was in so much excruciating

pain. i couldnt go to work and was dealing with a dr who didnt know what was

wrong with me. He gave me very little pain meds and finally i went in there

with my mom a week later so tired from crying, no sleep and in so much

pain. I demanded on the spot he send me to a more capable dr (he was trying

to tell me it was in my head when i stood up on my crutches and gave him

hell..my mom sat there and didnt say a word cause she knew my pain. she

looked at him and said this is not like her- u need to help her NOW). So i

was brought into a specialist back home in CT where im from. They did some

tests but he knew right away it was RSD.

Gave me pain meds and put me in the heated pool for therapy but the pain is

still bad 5yrs later. Its been rough and I thank god my husband has been by

my side. I lost my job and insurance but was given long term disability

coverage. It does not include health care and when i went to state office i

was told i 'made too much'' and i know others are in this spot and its sad

and sick at same time. I have also been fighting SSD for the past 5yrs and

have a lawyer helping me.

Im sorry you have such bad pain and back swelling. I havent been thru

anything like this but I hope they can figure what is going on and give a

plan of action to help you. I hoep you will not end up having to go on

disability like alot of us. I admire you for trudging through and try to go

to school while rasing a family.

I liek you just want my life back also.

Sorry such a long email to you. Please keep us posted and im sorry for what

brought you to us . Know you have a family here as many peoples family and

friends cant understand what we are going through. you can email me/us
