HI Ursula,

Thanks for sharing the news, however, I was actually started on Aciphex when

it was introduced on the market. Presently, I am on double the recommended

dose, as well as Zantac and I still show erosive esophagitis on my biopsies.

They actually thought I had Barrett's with the way my esophagus looked.

Initially, I was started on 20 mg of Aciphex along with Propulsid (prior to

the FDA warnings), when that failed to work they placed me on an even newer

(and supposedly better) drug called Protonix, that too failed. Esophageal

manometry showed that my esophagus is " sluggish " (interestingly enough,

's is the same as mine)...hence and I both suffer from a dysmotility

of the esophagus along with severe GERD. I saw GI today and they added

Reglan and want to see me in month. They wanted to do a pH probe, which I

did not want (hate tubes in my nose) but will have to get if this does not

work...reason being, to see if I am refluxing a lot even while on all these

medications.

Thanks again,

Autumn (Mom to Mark Cd5-Cd19 PID and )
