Just an update from the Austin household. We have had a whirlwind of a

weekend. Mark went into severe abdominal pain late Friday night. Vomiting

followed at about 4am and by 9am we were in the ER. Everything checked out

OK (with the exception of a slightly elevated amylase) so they sent us home

at about 4pm or so. At 7pm Saturday the pain returned and by 9pm the

vomiting followed...by 1am Sunday we were back at the ER. Again, the amylase

was slightly elevated, but lipase was OK ruling out pancreatitis. They told

us to have Mark see his regular GI on Monday (which we already had an

appointment anyway) and that Mark needed to be scoped. The suspicion is

infectious esophagitis or severe erosive esophagitis. We got home at 7am

this morning and the pain returned this afternoon....I pray that we can make

it to tomorrow, no one has had any sleep in our house. I think I figured out

that I had 2 hours in the last 48 hours....I hope we get some answers and

fast. Thanks for letting me vent.
