Guest guest
Hello, First, I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and suggestions. Many of you were as upset as we have been regarding this situation. I have contacted the Ohio Coalition and left a message, and I believe I am going to try to contact OCALI. Manifest determination is a new term to me, and I will be learning all about it I am sure especially over the next few weeks and years. I think this may be something very difficult to determine. I am, also, keeping notes of conversations and all the write ups, etc. The school principle phoned me again on Monday morning since we'd been playing phone tag before now. She stated that LJ was written up twice on that Thursday, April 7th. 1. He had spit on the floor. 2. He had laid down on his seat on the bus. I asked her to repeat the " laying down " part. She repeated what she had said. I asked if that was illegal in the student code of conduct, and she assured me it was. He is not allowed to lay down on his seat on the bus. She did say that she felt he had made remarkable progress since the Behavior plan was put in place on 3/10, and that he was continuing to respond well to the plan so she would not be suspending him for those incidents. The laying down on the seat is not specifically stated in the student code of conduct book that I can see. I asked for another copy be sent to me. I keep thinking... Why does he not have any situations on the other bus he rides with his other bus driver? She has not had any problems with him. Is it possible to ask for another bus/route in the AM? Would that help? Thank you for your thoughts and for your prayers too, Candie
