Guest guest
Has anyone had a child that wants nothing but to be ALONE....any attempt to socialize w/the child causes numerous behavior problems such as aggression to properity, aggression to others, and elopement? Please if you have any suggestions i'd love to know how to overcome this w/our 9 year old girl. dani
Guest guest
You may be going through die off. You can go through another die off whenever you swtich from one antiviral to another. Don't let up on Dr. G if she continues to regress. Let him know that something is definitely not right. As for behavior and aggression. I now lock my son in his room to throw his fits and I don't let him out unless he's ready to behave. I leave him in there for about 5 minutes, open the door and ask if he's going to be nice and be a good boy, he either says yes or no. If he says no the door closes again for another 3-5 minutes. His behavior got out of control and this has been the best way to allow him to calm down and get a grip. I would *never* allow this in a school setting, though. In a school, I would have to rely on other people to be humane and loving but since I'm not there to monitor it, it's not going to happen there. Too many kids have been locked in closets or empty rooms and left there. If behavior is a problem at school, you need to get a behavioral assessment which will lead to a behavior plan for her. Guest guest
Oops, sorry, also you get to pick your flavor if you have it compounded. Be careful which ones you choose, I think Kristy already said which ones were Dr. G safe. Cheryl On Jun 10, 2008, at 12:31 PM, Cheryl Lowrance wrote: > Titanium Dioxide is the pigment in the pill. Guest guest
I've used compounded before and it should be any less or more effective as the pill as it is the pill in a liquid suspension. Stopped using compounds as my son swallows pills but there isn't a difference in efficacy. Just make sure the blue dye is washed off for compounding Valtrex. It usually costs about $25 to have it compounded. Cheryl On Jun 9, 2008, at 9:00 PM, Kristy Nardini wrote: > Is it flavored? Guest guest
My son is five and he does get up set. When this happens we get down to his level and tell him that this is not ok. He he doesn't stop we put him in his room on his bed for a time out. The kids may act as if they don't understand, but they do. When we sit him on the bed, we let him know again that it is not ok and when he is ready he can come out. We leave the door open to be sure he isn't hurting himself. The first few times, he would come out of his room and start throwing the tantrum. We would then just take him back in his room and sit him on the bed and tell him again that it isn't ok and when he was ready he could come out. It took a long time, but he got it. Now he goes in there when we tell him to go and will sit and play with a toy to clam down or even lay on his bed. I have never seen Dr. G, and my son is not on any med, but I thought maybe this could help you. Thank you, Cristina parent to 5 yr old austic, xyy boy Behavior problems Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has experienced behavioral problems with their child after stopping valtrex? My daughter recently had her first appt. with Dr.Goldberg. He took her off valtrex to start her on Famvere. She has been getting very agressive and having more tantrums then usual. It worries me because she has become violent towards her 3 year old sister when she is in one of her rages. When we saw doctor Goldberg I mentioned to him that she had been regressing now for several weeks. She just turned 5 but as Dr. G mentioned she is at a 3 year old level. If anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with her agression/behavior can you please advise. As for many of you, this has been a very difficult thing for me to deal with and I Just don't know how to handle her tantrums anymore as I myself have gotten hit by her when she is going through them. So again any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, May
