Hi Marcella

Re: Help Fr > Eng.

This is what I found in " Medical Abbreviations, " by Neil M. .

> 1.. Is Vi a common abbreviation for vaccin or vaccine?

VI = 1. Six

2. Volume Index

> 3.. Niveau Assurance Stérilité (SAL) - Does that stand for Sterilisation

Assurance Level?

SAL = 1. salicylate

2. Salmonella

> 4.. Eau UF, PPI - UF is Ultra- Filtrated but I drew a blank for PPI

PPI = 1. benzylpenicilloylpolysine

2. patient package insert

3. Present Pain Intensity

I don't know if any of these apply--some clearly don't fit the contexts

you've given.

Hello all

I translated two different texts from French to English yesterday. The first

one was a vacine stability test and the second a technical data sheet for a

syringe inflating/deflating angiopasty balloons and stents. In both cases

the authors used English terminology here and there in the French texts (a

common enough occurrence!) and I asked myself a number of questions

1.. Is Vi a common abbreviation for vaccin or vaccine?

2.. Bioburden: I understand what it means but was trying to find a

definition out of curiosity. Can anyone help?

3.. Niveau Assurance Stérilité (SAL) - Does that stand for Sterilisation

Assurance Level?

4.. Eau UF, PPI - UF is Ultra- Filtrated but I drew a blank for PPI

Many thanks for your help and comments

Have a nice Easter week-end
