Guest guest
Hi Ursula, Unfortunately Wade is still not home yet. Don't worry, you'll hear me screaming, shouting, dancing & shooting off fireworks all the way to Georgia the day he comes home! I thought that I sent an update after the last hearing, but maybe I didn't. Long story short... the last referee decided that there was " suspicion of probable cause " so he sent it forward to pre-trial. My lawyer demanded a judge & jury for pre-trial (not a referee) & so we are still waiting to hear a date. In the meantime, Wade has been diagnosed & treated for 3 sinus infections, pneumonia & bronchitis & that is just in the last 6 weeks! Plus he fractured his right ankle on top of it all! Oh & I was NO WHERE NEAR HIM when any of these things occurred!! Sorry, I just had to get that " dig " in. That's about all I know right now. How's Macey doing? Hope all the pumpkins are as well as can be. Hug them for me! Beth, Mom to Wade, CVID, Asthma,GERD,Neutropenia,Eczema & fractured right ankle RE: Looking for info - broken bones Beth - Is Wade home? Guest guest
I have a 9 year old girl with PID she has had several broken bones (arms, fingers and nose). She also has seizures. We have not had any problem with them healing, but the Doctor said he would see us within a year after the first one and that was too true. I don't know if it has something to do with PID or or possibly IVIG. Any info you might have would be helpful. As far as any problems there was none with healing aaand as long as the skin was not broke there is no concern obout infection per our immunologist. Hope this helps. Guest guest
You are the first pid parent that's child also has epilepsy that I have heard! do your doctors think that it is related to the immune def.? At this point our doctors don't know. And we are waiting for the MRI to rule out a brain tumor. Was told last Sunday that if it isn't a brain tumor it is definitely epilepsy. I know nothing about either. And we are very anxious. How does the epilepsy affect her immune deficiency? I have a ton of questions!! Thank you! Guest guest
Diane, We found out about Stef''s epilepsy before we knew she had PID. Her seizures are pretty much under control now though when she broke her nose and one of her arms it was due to seizures. Seizures don't seem to have much of an effect on her PID status. Though this does cause her to get her more ofteeeen and when it breaks the skin we have to worry about infection and bleeding. Due to the IVIG and seizure med her white count goes down. Ibe glad to answer any questions you have that I know the answers to. Stef was diagnosed with epilepsy 7 and 1/2 years ago. She has myoclonic, atonic and petite mal seizures. but like I said they are mostly under control. Let me know if I can be of any help.
