Hi,

To answer your question re: where my daughter will be receiving her

treatment....we will be going to New York- Presbyterian, Weill Cornell's Payne

Whitney -Westchester Division. She'll be seen at their Outpatient OCD

program. In response to the other question, re: the one way mirror, I'm not

really sure about the process...guess I'll have lots more to report in Sept. My

best understanding is that my daughter will be working behind the 1 way mirror

with one therapist, while perhaps approximately 5 other therapist-

psychologists, post grad fellows, ? med student, etc.- will be observing on the

other side. The Director of the program will have some degree of involvement as

well. I met her and really liked her and I'm hoping that she may even be my

daughter's direct therapist. At a minimum she'll be on the other side of the

mirror, per my best understanding at this stage of the game. As an R.N. who has

worked in the field of psychiatry, I'm really

excited about this approach because I've seen how helpful collaberation and a

team approach can be. I feel 5 minds are greater than 1 ! I was told that I'd be

in the therapy session 95% of the time and that there will be a parent training

component to the program as well. I pray that we will see a reduction of

symptoms with the addition of therapy. I feel confident that my daughter is a

good match for this program and that they are good at what they do. Hope I

answered all your questions and feel free to ask more. I've received so much

from this group, I'm happy to give back!

W. in NY
