Adolescent Asperger boy - What works?

I have a 12 y.o. Aspergers boy, in mainstream public education. He is

the target of bullies, and currently has a one-on-one for both

protection and skill building. His main issues are with understanding

subtle social cues, making friends and cultivating friendships, and

controlling impulsive behaviors like poking the children around him.

He also needs help managing the bullying he endures and needs help with

stress management. I have used a private therapist and social skills

groups (he does not enjoy either). I have also worked with him using

the book, Navigating the Social World. What else have people found to

be helpful? Thanks.
