I am so sorry about nettie getting so ill so suddenly. Isn't it strange how we

are on call 24 hour a day. Hope she gets to feeling better and you get some

rest.

I think I'll stay if you don't mind :-)

Well, as I sat here yesterday, reading the digest and answering Debbie's

post. My brother-in-law ran up my stairs and said he had my daughter,

Nettie, in the car and she is very sick. So I signed-off and went out to see

what all the commotion was. There she was, in the back seat and her nurse in

the front seat. She had a 104 axillary temp and a horrible headache. So off

the the ER we went, where an x-ray confirmed another right lower lobe

pneumonia. They wanted her to go home from the ER, but I was not comfortable

with her appearance and wanted to admit for the night. This morning she

looked a lot better and I told them to discharge her. We were then informed

that her blood culture was positive for strep pnemo, which is presumably the

same infectious agent as her pneumonia. Gave her an extra dose of

Clindimycin IV and then sent us on our way. So, I am back to reading my

digest, and the stories.

I do want to add, I agree with Ursula, no one needs to be offended on this

list. We are all venting, just as we should, and need to do. Some just do

it better than others I suppose :-) So take a deep breath and I will too. I

thank you all for being here. I finally feel like I belong somewhere. There

is no " perfect " list for any one of us. Our children are all so individual.

But this list seems to have the greatest understanding of Nettie's situation

as any other I have been on. So, if you don't mind, I think I will stay.

Since there seems to be so many jumping the ship, I better drop anchor and

see what happens huh!? Take care all of you and God Bless your little

" pumpkins " .
