Zocor ... myopathy??

When I saw this group I just had to join. For over 4 years I've had

fatigue, myalgia, and severe exercise intolerance which started with

just my bicep muscles about two weeks after being put on Zocor. It

took about 3 years before my legs, hips, arms, shoulders, and last my

hands have all been affected. I was taken off Zocor about 2 months

after starting it to see if the arm pain would quit and it didn't.

I'm 100% disabled by the VA and homebound. I've been looking

everywhere I can think of to see if anyone has PROVEN a link between

Zocor and the symptoms I've described. Has anyone actually proven it

and taken them to court for ruining their lives? I recently retired

with 30 years in the Navy as an EOD Diver, so I was extremely

physically fit before this happened. I've been seen at 5 different

neurology depts including Walter (which was the biggest

disappointment of all) and had 4 biopsies, 3 of which were mishandled

or the wrong tests were ordered. I can't get it out of my head that

this all started within weeks of starting Zocor. All the normal

neurologic stuff has been ruled out. My broad scope dx for now is

simply metabolic myopathy, which can be about a zillion things.

OK, so now the million dollar question ... has anyone else here been

through the same? I'm too tired to read through all the posts LOL.

Thanks,

Ed
