Guest guest
Hi Dixie! Please understand that I have NO affiliation with any hearing instrument maker. I do receive newsfeed from all 3 of the CI makers and distribute all as received as a public service. I will pass your request on to Advanced Bionics and ask that you be contacted privately with information for your friend. Guest guest
Yeah, " bashing " is not a good idea. As a mom with two CI kids, one just diagnosed two days ago with a seizure disorder, I truly need the support of other CI parents, AND input from adult users. I wasn't real thrilled with the comment: " I'm not sure why AB has their information coming thru him if he isn't part of their marketing team in some way. The other CI manufacturers have their volunteer teams who do this. Maybe AB doesn't feel that their volunteers can get the word out. " I'm guessing Bob just got some info that crossed his path and shared it with others in a place he thought it would be appropriate. It's for this exact kind of information I love the forums, web pages, blogs. We are very fortunate to have a " gathering " online of users. When my first son was implanted on 3.5 years ago I didn't find as much support from any group of users, locally or online. I feel very blessed to read all of the hearing experiences, and have a place to get more information. I am absolutely thrilled to feel connected to a " support group " to help me better understand what my sons are going through. The gal I met who had an original 3M implant, was later implanted. I don't know with which brand of implant(I didn't even ask her that question), but she's not using a processor anymore. She wasn't real happy with the quality at that time. I'm encouraging her, no matter which brand she has, to go back to her clinic and learn about possible upgrades in technology. It was wonderful hearing about her pioneering experiences with a very early CI. She is actually open to visiting her clinic and asking questions, as well as go to the websites to learn more. Hopefully she'll even find a forum group like this for support? That would be great! --Karin, mom to (CII 11/01), and Tommy (90K 5/04) www.bionicboys.blogspot.com BEA Volunteer
Guest guest
Dixie, Whereas Advanced Bionics itself does not have any educational events planned right now for current users in Alabama, local groups or clinics might, and I highly encourage you to encourage your friend to contact the BEA directly at hear@ advancedbionics.com with any questions. Also, the bionicear.com website contains alot of info. And we are available daily on call to answer questions from users. Hope that helps your friend sandy > Hi Bob, > > I noticed that no seminars are being held in Alabama. Guest guest
Hi all,Please forward - especially if you know someone in SA. From: Kathy Scarborough [mailto:visa@...] Sent: Friday, 30 July 2010 4:48 PMSubject: seminars Hi, I am attaching a flyer for our seminar and Q & A panel at Burnside Community Centre on Sunday afternoon, 2 – 5 pm. We have gone with this format so that people can ask questions about vaccines and especially about options for maintaining health when you chosoe not to vaccinate. If you can’t make Sunday, rest assured we will offer the opportunity again before too long. Coincidentally I am giving extensive lectures on all aspects of vaccination this Friday at the n Bowling Club, Friday July 30th at 7.30pm for Cosmic Connections ($5 donation) and then again on Tuesday August 3rd for the Natural Health Society at 7.30pm, Unley Citizens Centre, 18 Arthur Street, Unley, $4 for non-members. Anyone is welcome to attend either lecture.
