My son , a very healthy 7-year old boy, had sackie Virus when he was 2 years old. The presenting symptom was mouth ulcers and fever. The ulcers eventually spread down his throat and into his esophagus. He became severely dehydrated and hypoglycemic. He was hospitalized for a week. does not have any form of PID. Just a thought .... Guest guest
FYI....Nystatin comes in a " swish & swallow " solution & this often works better for Wade because if they are in his throat then they are usually in his lower throat & esophagus as well. Hope this works for him. Take care! Guest guest
No he didn't say anything about a rash but when I took him to see the immuno last week he had a odd rash he still has a mark on his arm that hasn't healed properly. Thank you for your prayer Annette. mom to Tyler (CVID)
Guest guest
Grandma said Tyler seems a bit better today, he got stuck at Grandma's house last night beacuse of the bad weather the roads were horrible. I spoke to Dr. yesterday and she said he could have malox or the ped pops that make his mouth numb, but he is already on Zyrtec for allergies so no Benedryl. And he is alternating Motrin and Tylenol but his temp is down to 99.2 so I hope it stays down this time. This is our first time with this and hopefully our last but when he gets something he usually gets it over and over again for a few months. mom to Tyler 3 (CVID)
Guest guest
Chris: Good luck. has had hand-foot-and mouth 5 times, herpengina at least 2 times, and other various forms of coxsackie more times than I can remember. Each time the outbrek was a little milder than before. ( had repeated episodes because of his selective antibody problems.) Did the doctor give you anything to help with the pain if it persists? Sometimes with we would give him a dose of Benadryl. Good luck and I hope Tyler gets feeling 100% by the week-end! -mom to ,dysgammaglobulinemia; ALL-in remission Re: Throat ulcers > From: ETERNI7045@... > > Thanks for the info the Dr. Called it herpangina.
