I am now on orals(tetracycline) and i seem to be making progress.I feel awful most of the time...seems to be the only way to get well:-)I have had lyme since 1984, so I was misdiagnosed for many years myself. It's going to take a long time for this to work, but Lyme had a long time to find little hiding places in my body all that time. That's what's working for me, but everyone is different--what a crazy disease.---Eleanor
Guest guest
i chop up liver and kidneys finely, cook them rapidly and put them in casseroles, soups etc in the last few minutes of cooking. nobody knows, and nobody else in my house EVER eats offal. they swear it would never pass their lips, but it does, twice a week. Any HFS or other supplier that sells organic meats can get you organic livers, kidneys etc which are much, much purer than other organ meats. It is cheap as their suppliers usually have trouble getting rid of it. The hard part is getting your kid to eat the stuff. Our son is not fussy about food, but he won't eat organ meat. I've made it into pates (which I thought were pretty damned tasty), mixed it with mince and made meatballs, but no go. Might be time to try again. I can always eat it if he won't. Guest guest
My son did not actually eat non-edibles but he mouthed almost everything in sight. We used a contingent punishment procedure and the behavior has decreased significantly. Each time he mouthed, he had to clip clothespins on a bowl. (a slightly aversive task for him). We started with 5 clothespins. If he did it again, we'd increase to 10 then 15, etc. until he went 30 minutes without mouthing and we'd return to 5. The first few days were tough but it worked! I think we got up to 60 clothespins at one time. If he mouths and no one sees him, he isn't punished. But, he's learned it is not a socially acceptable behavior. wrote: There is 1 message in this issue. Topics in this digest: 1. I am very aware on how to create a behavior plan for a child in the principles of ABA, but I was wondering if anyone had dealt with trying to extinguish the PICA behavior and what worked for them. Any suggestion you can offer would be great.
