Used in a dog with same condition and responded remarkably well. Have treated cats for other issues.

Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia

Has anyone had any success helping cerebellar hypoplastic cats? I am working with a 10 month old DSH that is severely spastic and unable to use a litter box. The owner absolutely loves this cat and money is not an issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Browne, DVM,CVA,CCRT(pending),CVC

I would try Acupuncture.

I

also worked with a 10 month old cat with feline cerebellar

hypoplasia.

But

when I saw him the first time he was already independent and functional. He was

able to use a litter box and to get up on his own.

But

he did fall down all the time. And he was also severely spastic and not

coordinated.

I

worked a lot with the owners and learned them to do exercises to improve the

coordination and stability. It helped a little bit to improve his quality of

life and the owners were happy that he didn’t fell down so lot any more.

He also played more with the other cats. But he’s still spastic and not

well coordinated. So it wasn’t a really big improvement.

Good

luck!

I was hoping someone on the list could give me some direction on rehabbing a 9 week old kitten with cerebellar hypoplasia. I have not met the kitten as yet, but apparently she has severe proprioception issues. I apologize for not having better information on the kitty, but I would like to try helping her.

Thanks in advance,
