Guest guest
Dear Group Members, Dr. Cory Pedersen of Kwantlen University (in British Columbia, Canada) would like to invite mothers of children with autism in BC to participate in a research study about having a child with autism. All that is required of mothers is a one hour, one time, interview by telephone. This study is examining the relationship between maternal stress levels, a child's abillities, with fear of public judgment, and feelings that the public understands autism. We hope this research will help professionals and mothers better understand how mothers may become isolated, and what the impact of the public on a parent, and provide interventions to assist mothers and families. This study is open to mothers of children with an autism spectrum disorder of all ages and abilities. Participation is completely voluntary and all of your personal information is strictly confidential. If you are a mother located in BC, Canada, and wish to assist us through a one hour phone interview, please email kimberlyhurd@.... For more information and a full recruitment letter please email kimberlyhurd@.... If you have any questions or concerns about this study please contact Dr. C. L. Pedersen 604-599-3356. Best wishes, Kim Hurd We realize that many group members are outside of the BC area. We'd like to thank all interested participants, but unfortunately data collection is only feasable with BC mothers for this particular study.
