Guest guest
Hello, I am brand new to this board. I have a ds who is 4 (will be 5 in Feb) diagnosed with mild autism. He is " verbal " but not conversational by any stretch of the imagination. He has vestibular, proprioceptive, visual, and auditory sensory issues. All but auditory are hyposensitive. Auditory sensitivity is only in response to extra loud noises (choirs, loud trucks, loud toilets flushing etc) however, there are some sounds he insists on hearing again and again (certain parts of movies or songs, flushing our toilet at home, dropping certain toys, etc). He is receiving speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA, and meets once a week with our schools early childhood special ed teacher (will be switched to the autism specialist at the school staring in August). His expressive and receptive language are at about a 2yo level. Here's my question...I have many, but this is the most pressing. The teachers he has at church are at a loss as to how to deal with him in class. So, after talking with our director of children's ministries, I have offered to hold a meeting/session to talk to 'teach' these adults basic info on autism, specific info on my son, and anything else they may ask. Any suggestions on what I can do? Handouts, videos, etc? Thank you.
Guest guest
I don't expect to get a script because as I said Kaiser doesn't treat Fibro/CFS. I can try the cherries, couldn't hurt, but I already have melatonin and it doesn't help at all. I do have a prescription for ibuprofen but that doesn't help much either. My husband has to help me get up from bed and chairs all the time. I have a wheel chair and crutches. I really want to try the LDN as nothing else has helped but really Kaiser doesn't do anything. I was told to exercise, which I can't because I have a shattered foot that isn't healing. The Fibro and the fracture are feeding off each other. I can't walk because the Fibro has settled in the new fracture. So Kaiser IS willing to do surgery but something as simple as LDN isn't an option. There is pain in all the fibrous tissues of the body including muscles, ligaments and tendons. More women than men are afflicted with fibromyalgia, but it is seen in people of all ages. Red Tart cherries may play a role in alleviating some of the pain and discomfort brought on by fibromyalgia because the cherries contain significant quantities of melatonin, which help regulate the sleep cycle. Sleep regulation is one key treatment of fibromyalgia. In addition, the anthocyanins found in cherries contain high levels of -1 and -2 inhibitors, which function in the same manner as ibuprofen and may help with pain relief for people with fibromyalgia.Brownwood Acres Red Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate http://www.fruitinstitute.org/cherries.htm
Guest guest
Hi, I also belong to kaiser and my primary care dr wrote me an rx for the naltrexone tablets which I dilute in distilled water. He wrote that I'm an alcoholic so kaiser would cover it. Maybe yours would too?
Guest guest
What is Kaiser? Is it an insurance company?
