Guest guest
My 16 yr. old Grandaughter, Noble, was in an automobile accident last night. She broke her femur. Thank God there were no other injuries and the passenger in the car was not injured. She is on her way to the OR as I write. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Gerry Deverell

Guest guest
Gerry, I am sorry about your granddaughter, . She'll be having her friends vying for a chance to sign her cast. It's a good thing it's going into summer, so that she can wear shorts to accommodate the cast. In the mean time, parents and grandparents do worry. I do hope nothing else is found to be wrong. That is where the prayers come in. From this one old great grandmother who has been there many times, and understands. Guest guest
Hi Gerry I definitely will keep in my prayers. It is always a scary thing when our children and grand children begin to drive and get out on there own. I will be praying. Guest guest
Well, what they won't do these days? No cast for . Must have been a pretty bad break, to have a rod and pins, but so glad they could fix her up. Aren't we glad for the Medical Profession? I may fuss about a Doctor's bad personality, or lack of knowledge when he is specializing in the very thing I am seeking help for, but for the most part they are caring, and work awfully hard for us. I am glad we have them. It is good news that will be alright, given time. To think it could have been so much worse because of a car wreck. Gives a parent the willies. She spent the day in OR and PACU getting her broken femur repaired. She has a rod and 3 pins, no cast. She is extremely pale. Should be going home over the week end. I have been elected to be her orthopedic nurse, since my daughter has to go back to work. I am a retired nurse, but I delivered babies for 30 yrs. What do I know about grumpy teenagers with broken bones? I guess I will learn fast. We are fortunate though that my daughter, 's mother, is an orthopedic nurse, who works in our joint replacement unit, so I do have a good resource to call on. Again thanks for the prayers.
