Guest guest
Navyww, " Anyone have any experience with fasting " I am considering starting one in a day or two. The best one so far is the Master Cleanse, for me. I had no trouble with hunger (as long as I had a tea-cup sized amount as soon as I felt hungry) and I saw my skin clear up, weight come down and others (who didn't know I was on a fast said I was " glowing " )!!!! I hope this helps. http://www.google.com Will give you all the websites on the cleanse if you want to check it out. There are others, so don't be shy, but this is worth it's weight in gold. Natural Hygiene? > > Thanks, Gust > Hi Gust I have done an amount of fasting over the years. Now that I'm doing the gallbladder cleanse every two weeks I am incorporating a one day fast with that, too. I have done a number of one day fasts, some three day fasts and the longest I've done are 10, 21 and 67 days. I'd highly recommend the shorter ones, but if you ever consider a longer one be sure that you have LOTS of information and know what you're getting into before you start. I think it's a great thing to do and done correctly can be a wonderful form of cleansing! in health,

What were your results? It wasn't a particular program - I was just doing juice and water and occasionally a strained vegetable broth. Some wouldn't consider that a fast, I know, but by the definition I have chosen it is. The 10 and 21 day ones were just water. I wasn't under medical supervision, but I did see a naturopath toward the end. She wasn't really much help, though, and really just asked questions of curiosity because she had never talked with anyone who had undergone such a fast. I read several different books before/during the fast. I can't think of the names at the moment, but I will find them and then post the names. As for the results....clearer skin, brighter eyes, weight loss and increase in energy. That's a summary of it. If only I had been sensible and kept up with a healthy eating regimen after it, but I didn't and probably canceled out all the good I did. Actually it was in the middle of that fast when I did my first liver cleanse. I can still remember standing in the bathroom at work looking down and just saying " Oh my....wow....! " (to myself, of course!!) I easily flushed out hundreds of smaller stones with that first one. I have no regrets about the fast. I traveled - even went to a conference in the middle of it. The amazing thing is that nobody at work knows that I did it! People commented that it seemed like I was losing weight and they asked what I was doing. I just told them I was doing a lot more juicing. Hey - that was the truth! I've found it's best not to discuss most of this kind of stuff with people at work. Anyway, I would highly recommend fasting to anyone who feels compelled to try it. However, I wouldn't really recommend doing an extended fast like that without medical supervision. The challenge, then, is to find a medical professional with experience with long term fasting! However, the benefits of short term fasting (even 1-3 days) on a regular basis can be astounding. Well...I could go on for a long time - fasting is a favorite subject of mine. I will go look up those book titles and let you know. toward improving health,

Guest guest
, In '2000, I fasted for 7 days on the Master Cleanse (no salt-water) and it was wonderful! But I was way too much in love with food and attached to it (like a god) and something happened, I gave in! I haven't been able to do it again since. I have dealt with my food issues since I was thinking about doing the lemonade (without the salt-water) seeing your post really inspired me. I am thinking about doing the lemonade (with honey) and eating yogurt (you have to make this all the time on SCD) also it is good to have with my supplements (for the calories) which I would love to finish off instead of throwing out in the trash can! Soooo much money I have wasted!! Years ago, I bought a juicer (still works) and I use it for lemon all the time, but I cannot stand the taste of juice veggies anymore!! ( So I will stick to the broths for veggies. Fruit will be no problem, and when people ask, I will say I am not hungry because I already ate!! Sounding good? I will regulate the fast by how I feel. That's my version of medical supervision! It is as good as anything I have paid for to date!! Since your favorite subject is fasting, I will post any questions I have. I do have some books that talk about fasting, but would still really appreciate the book list (thanks). Thank you for the long informative post as it helped me too hammer out the details I was worried about. God bless, KJ
Guest guest
Hi KJ Sorry it took so long for me to get to this information. It's been an exhausting week at work and I needed a little recuperation time. Here is a list of books I have about fasting (juice fasting and water fasting). I will tell you in advance that I don't subscribe completely to what one person says, but have gleaned some from each of them. I guess you've probably seen by now from my posting that I'm not a diehard follower of a particular person on any subject, but would rather read a lot and make up my own mind about things. So, having said that, here is a list of books on the subject of fasting, somewhat in order of preference: How to Keep Slim, Health & Young with Juice Fasting (Dr. Paavo Airola) Juice Fasting & Detoxification (Steve Meyerowitz) Fasting and Eating for Health ( Fuhrman, MD) The Miracle of Fasting Proven Throughout History ( and Bragg) Fasting - The Ultimate Diet (Alan Cott, MD) Rational Fasting for Physical, Mental & Spiritual Rejuvenation (Prof.Arnold Ehret) Also, the website for Fasting Center International has a LOT of good information and testimonials. http://www.fasting.com/ They will try to get you to pay for their services if you contact them, but you can ignore than and just read the stuff on their site. It's a good source of encouragement during a fast, too, to read about what others have done and are doing in this area. I wish you all the best for your upcoming fast and I do hope that you will share your experience with us! in health, PEACEJ@... writes: > Since your favorite subject is fasting, I will post any questions I have.
