Guest guest
Our health food store sells Omega 3 supplements specifically formulated for kids and they let you take home samples. I took home a dozen samples of different mutlivitamins and the omega 3 - good thing. Out of a dozen, only 2 brands met with " the bosses' " approvals. I would've wasted a lot of money without those samples! > > Does anyone give their kids supplements- specifically I am wondering about > Omega 3 (Fish oil) and B1? Guest guest
Is it safe to give children the Omega 3 supplements in conjuction with SSRI's. My 13 yr old son currently is taking 50 mg of Celexa for his OCD and I'd like to get him on some more natural remedies to help like the Omega 3 and B complex in hopes of reduce his daily dosage of Celexa. I will check with his doctor but just wondering if anyone knows. thanks. > > > > Does anyone give their kids supplements- specifically I am wondering > about > > Omega 3 (Fish oil) and B1? Guest guest
Hi there, We have been using omega 3, B's, plus other for over two years along side celexa. Have never been able to reduce medication due to addition of these supplements though, not sure about that one. 5-HTP I believe may help with the processing of serotonin and therefore might enable reduction of medication, also inositol targets serotonin specifically. If you google these supplements you can pull up some good info usually. A psychiatrist at our local childrens hospital does " prescibe " the use of omega 3 and 5-HTP with the use of ssri's. Not certain about inositol, have read different things, but need to be careful when using with medication if at all because of possibility of serotonin syndrome Barb .. > > Is it safe to give children the Omega 3 supplements in conjuction > with SSRI's.
