want to share a good day..

i just want to share a good day that my ds had today with pepole whod

understand...

(its so rare to have a good day!!)

my son went off to school today (hes in seventh grade) as usual (ie, the normal

wake up getting out turmoil which leaves me exhausted by 8 am!).

about an hour later i ran into the mother of a classmate of his ,who mentioned

something about the class trip they were taking today. i was shocked,... i had

no idea there was a class trip today. my son took his regular backpack with his

regular books and no snacks or extra food or drink etc.. i pictured him melting

down in school , he was not mentally prepared for this trip nor physically

prepared....

i waited all day for a phone call.

it didnt come.

he came home happily at the end of the day.

i said, did you have a trip today?

he said, yeah i forgot. but its ok. i had a friend who let me put my water

bottle in his water carrier, and i managed with my sandwich and it was ok.

i was in shock. i havent stopped telling him all day how proud i am of him. this

from a boy who several years back when the pyschologist canceled his appt

because of snow threw himself down on the floor in the middle of school

screaming because he couldnt handle the unexpected change!!

im realistic enough to know that most days arent like this. but i thank g-d that

they come once in a while!!!
