Guest guest
Hi....I haven't posted in awhile; we've just gotten our VB program up and running again after a long bout of medical problems with my daughter. I'm in the midst of hiring therapists again. We have a wonderful CBA and an extremely talented lead therapist. I've hired a person who is well qualified and a good worker. We are setting up the money " rules " and I just wondered how you all handle this. She called in 2 hours before our second session and had to cancel because her child had gotten a bad sunburn the day before and was not well. This was fine with me as I totally " get " the mom and the medical thing. However we rescheduled for later that week during which my dtr had an Upper GI with small bowel follow thru, had to drink 16 oz. of barium and spent from 8 AM till 6PM at the hospital. That night she was up all night with a stomach ache and was a mess. I called 2 hours before the session was due to start and cancelled however she still expected me to pay her for the session. I understand this is a " Job " and she needs to count on a certain amount of money each week or month but I too have to make alot of arrangements and preparations before a session. I haven't had this problem before as most who have worked for us are also friends and we are totally flexible both ways. Not very professional I admit. So is this how it works in the REAL world? I'm thinking it probably is and if so I'm not going to be able to afford it and may as well find someone else before I spend too much more time training her to do our program. She doesn't come cheap, nor should she as she is very good (not certified but with an MS in special ed). Please let me know how you folks handle this type of thing. It's difficult as my daughter does have alot of medical issues and her health is not all that predictable. I'm on digest so if you could cc me at gldcst@... I'd appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to read all this. Sherry
