Guest guest
Would a consultant come in and evaluate a child to determine if VB/ABA would be benefical or would they automatically say yes this is what he needs? We have not talked to a consultant yet. Our son is 3 1/2 and is verbal, he mands, tacts, does some intraverbals, echoes just about anything we say and is starting to put several words together. He is attending a pre-school with typical developing and special needs children. He has a diagnosis of autism. He learns things pretty quickly, with out lots of repitition. We are trying to figure out if he actually would need intensive one on one therapy. We also don't have a lot of VB consultants in our area, most are ABA only. I attended Dr. Carbone's workshop and was truly amazed. We live outside of Charlotte, NC. If any one knows of a VB consultant in my area please let me know.
