Dear Dr. Geller,

My son is almost 12. He has TS, OCD, and ADD.

He will start CBT Wednesday and currently is on no meds. We are trying to

get him into the psychiatrist, but the first appt I can get is in March. The

Neuropsychologist is trying to pull strings and get us in sooner, if all else

fails we have an appt with the neurologist the 22 of December, and will ask him

for med.

He first started touching cabinet doors, age 9. Then in 5 grade started

blinking, sniffing, and throat clearing, touching continued, and included doors,

and drawers, but didn't over take his life. He was still able to maintain A/B

honor roll, as he had done all through grade school.

6th grade however is completely different, he has now, just in the last few

months lost his ability to write legibly. OCD has taken over his life, as he

cant get through doorways, onto rugs w/o counting steps. closing drawers/doors

have to feel right, as everything he does is feel right/sound right

motivated. He is repeating sentences when he speaks, and reads. He can no

longer

read, and we have to read his school work to him. His grades have now fallen, 2

D- and a C. Plus I think 2 Bs. The tics are different, head turn, some

blinking, and spitting. But they aren't impacting his life the way the OCD is.

Although, the Dr. that diagnosed him said he has significant tics, and even

pointed out a shoulder shrug I hadn't noticed to be a tic.

Recently a new tic(we think) has come back, he rubs his bottom and sniffs

his hands over and over again. He will rub his hands on himself, leaving the

odor all over his body and his things, there's no feces, just the odor. He has

also developed a spitting tic, spitting on the floor, bed, himself, anywhere.

And the most recently, he has begun to wet himself. Not at night, while a

sleep, but while lying in bed (day or night) watching TV or playing video games,

he just wets himself. He said he doesn't know why he's doing it. He doesn't

do this while doing other things around the house, just in his room. I don't

know what to do. I don't know if the wetting is TS, or OCD or something

worse. He doesn't change his clothes after he does this, as the smell doesn't

bother him. I found it today, he said he had been doing it for about a week.

Thanks for any

suggestions,
