Speaking of old and physically challenged folks, I carry my Iso-Bow everywhere for a quick work out, (I'm only 64) but I made the mistake of showing to my 87 years old mother. She's badly incapacitated by osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, using a wheelchair much of the time. However she grabbed the Iso-Bow and took to it like the proverbial duck to water and now she's doing the exercises all the time, of necessity from a sitting position. Now I've had to order myself a second Iso-Bow :-)

But seriously, I think the Iso-Bow is ideal for less able folk as it's lightweight and easy to use. Perhaps Mr has a whole new market there! 'Iso-therapeutics'.

Cheers

Dave

Who has used a stability ball?  Trying to think of a piece of exercise equipment that would suit an 'over 55er.  He's much over-weight & he's got high blood pressure so a bullworker is off the list for now.  He tried my steel-bow and his blood pressure 'red-lined'.

He wants to exercise but finds the regular stuff too hard & a bit boring.   So I think a stability /exercise ball might tip the scales into getting him up and exercising.  Seems to be lots of how-to videos on youtube for exercises.

So..... is a stability ball a good thing for an older bloke?

Unfortunately my Steel bow ( & no doubt the Iso-bow) are not compatible

with people who suffer from high blood pressure. He used it several

times and his blood pressure which ranges between 120 & 130 on

medication shot up to 155 to 160 after trying the 5-10 beginners

exercises each time. And he had a headache from the pressure & it took

a day or two to drop back both times. The good news is he loves the

bullworker and it will be an incentive to get fit & lose weight so he

can buy one.

no, he is already walking 3.5kms (few times around the block) & he's

doing it in under 50 minutes.

any member out there actually got one of those big exercise balls?

Here is a website with easy, lightweight resistance training for rehab, seniors,

and the overweight. I took the one that has the seated exercises out from my

local library and it got my wife motivated to start up again. She has graduated

to her Sweatin to the Oldies / videos which I found on dvd for

her.
