How old is she now? My son is 11 and still freaks out over clothes (socks,

underwear, t-shirts, pants...you name it)

If he wears a polo shirt (collared shirt) he has to have a t-shirt on-with

his other medical issues, this has come into play. We were traveling to one

of the children's hospitals we frequent and he had an accident after we'd

been there a few days and were on the way home. I ran to the car and

grabbed the last clean shirt-a collared shirt-he had no more t-shirts. He

wouldn't wear it. He would rather stay in a shirt with urine on it because

don't you know you have to have a t-shirt on if you have a shirt with a

collar. I managed to dig through the suitcase after lunch to find a

t-shirt that was clean-he'd worn it, but it was clean, if you know what I

mean.

He only wears certain underwear...certain shirts and pants. solid colors

only-

I have prayed and prayed and tried to help him over the hump, but he has not

gotten any better. (well, in some areas he has gotten better.he can now

wear shoes with laces and not panic if the loops on the bows are not just

right/even) .

We have struggled with clothing since he was a baby/toddler. I know people

must think he only has one set of clothes - or if they see him in a

different shirt, maybe one set of shorts and two shirts... We try to get

him to wear other things.

We have been preparing him for winter and explaining that he has to wear

long pants when it is cold.. He only wants to wear shorts because we can't

find the green pants he likes in his size. We have other pants, but he does

not like them. We are working on getting him to wear jeans. it is hard to

find clothes in his size--- he is husky and there are not many options

available.

Just to let you all know that my DD had these same issues with clothing. She

also went through OT for sensory issues. To make a long story short, after a

few years of struggling with clothing, she has completely grown out of this

issue.

Hang in there, it will get better. :0)
