Guest guest
Has anyone had any experience with the long-term benefits of Vet Stem? The surgeons in my area have not performed enough to give a reasonable assessment of it's success in treatment of hip and elbow dysplasia. I have a few patients who are not ortho-surgical candidates, but the clients are interested in pursuing Vet Stem if it's worth it. There is not much long-term data out there. The patients I am referring to have severe elbow dysplasia (grade III-IV). Their ROM is anywhere from 30 degrees to 5 degrees (flexion/extension). Rehab has provided pain-free manipulation and ROM, but pain on weight bearing remains. My understanding is that the benefits (small or large) may last 3 months to 1 year, with subsequent IA injections required thereafter.
