Guest guest
My daughter suffers from ocd. She started having symptoms when she was fifteen. They progressively got worse. We now have her on prozac and that seems to help somewhat but she has to constantly check and ask repetative questions. We have Kaiser insurance but they don't realy have a very good cognitive behavior program. I have been reading books about the disorder but I seemed to be stumped on what exactly is her fear. We had a cockatoo bird about three years ago. We gave the bird away because it was causing her stress. She thinks we are trying to sneek the bird back so she insists on checking us every time we enter the house. She frequently throws tantrums and screams at my wife. Is the tantrum thing a part of ocd? What would her fear be? Or is this more a matter of not trusting what we say? I would appreciate any imput maybe from someone going through a similiar situation. My daughter is now twenty with the ocd severely impacting her life and ours.
