Guest guest
Hi everyone, I want to know if anyone has a child with limited expressive language but good receptive skills, no behavior issues but sensory issues to crowds/loud noises (although if properly motivated/reinforced does not bother him as much) who is behind academically who is in an inclusion setting-regular classroom. is 9 but considered in 1st grade. What are your experiences? I know in order to work it has to be down by trained indivuals but just trying to figure out if I should advocate for this or keep him in a self contained classroom? Guest guest
Hi, I'd be interested in anyone's feedback on this as well; I have a younger son with similar challenges who is transitioning to kindergarten. Guest guest
Judy,Janine and group, My 15YO son with the dual dx/autism and CP is completely nonverbal but he has benefited from inclusive placements since he was a 6YO kindergartener. An OT can work on the sensory issues as needed. School staff need to be well trained--but this is always true... ,Colin P's mom [ ] child with autism in inclusion setting Hi everyone, I want to know if anyone has a child with limited expressive language but good receptive skills, no behavior issues but sensory issues to crowds/loud noises (although if properly motivated/reinforced does not bother him as much) who is behind academically who is in an inclusion setting-regular classroom. is 9 but considered in 1st grade.
