Guest guest
Hi its those buttons....we had him stop using the computer for awhile, as he would click mouse to the point where his hand hurt, but wasn't playing or doing anything on the screen, just clicking the mouse. We're hoping this helps, we're letting him watch TV in his room, but he has to get out of bed to change the channel. His games we'll move to the living room, if that doesn't work....I'm out of ideas. So how is with buttons now? He has a standing appt every Wednesday after school. In a message dated 12/14/2008 6:51:23 A.M. Yes, it got on my nerves after a while for him to call me, I'd go see what he wanted and it was to change a channel! And he wasn't allowed to turn the computer on/off either. He was still playing video games back then, I don't know that he got " stuck " playing them but I (and ) noticed he did seem to repeat some things (have character repeat) or push buttons more than needed. Glad he was able to tell you the problem, and hopefully will help him get to the bathroom now! Keep us updated on the therapist, is the next appt soon? in NC **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now. Guest guest
Hi , finally got past that button (or switch) repeat/just right stuff. I guess one of the first successes was with light switches, not repeating. And water faucets. The TV remote took a long while. But finally one day he was able to push in the channel number he wanted (no repeats) and change channels that way. No scrolling up/down thru channels though, might get " stuck. " He's fine with all that these days. Good idea you had about his having to get up to change channels. Hope you see many improvements soon, what with therapy every week!! > > Hi > its those buttons....we had him stop using the computer for awhile, as he > would click mouse to the point where his hand hurt, but wasn't playing or doing
Guest guest
Hi You know... Micah does the water faucets too. In his bath we have lever type, and has to keep re-tighting, as Micah keeps pushing on them and they loosen. No changes in buttons....but his hand writing is getting better, still not what it was, but I can read it again. He's only at 1/2 dose, so hopefully it will all come back and buttons will stop being a problem. Therapy every week.....here's hoping improvement soon! In a message dated 12/14/2008 2:07:37 P.M.
