It seems it is very individual, Annie. The first time our son was on

them, he started improving after the first week. Not completely

improved, but obvious improvement.

The second time (same medication, but he was older), it took longer

(months) and improvement was not as obvious at first. And it took

months of being on the dose he is now, before things stabilized and

the anxiety left, for the most part.

Yet, I had a nephew who had milder OCD that was on a very low dose of

medication, and it worked for him.

I know it is frustrating when you are starting meds, and you just want

to see some improvement, yet they take their time working. (

Our son's dosage was upped about every 2-3 weeks, until we got closer

to the therapeutic dosage. Then we slowed down and waited to see what

was going to work for him. Only upping it about once a month.
