Guest guest
Hi Barb, Thanks, My daughter is not happy about this diet.Believe me!!!!! My older daughter had some friends over on Saturday night, and I had out some brownies and cookies.(I also made special ones for her) and she snuck some of the cookies. I'm finding it hard at school too.She was acting up last night, and I'm not sure if she ate something, because now she will lie about it. I'm left wondering if she ate something or it actually is not helping her behavior and she just had a good spell. She has not had diarrhea since she started the diet(except for when she had the cookie).but still nauseas. I did try Activia yogurt, but there is something with her and dairy going on also, I believe. Maybe I should try the nystatin. Is this over the counter? We'll see what happens!!!!!!!! Barb, did I read your son is not doing well again???? I hope not!!!!!!! Hugs to you Judy ________________________________ To: Sent: Monday, December 15, 2008 10:03:01 PM Subject: Re: OCD and diet success/ Judy Yeah!!!! All the aggravation with the diet is paying off. So glad to hear this Judy. This is big. I have heard about this connection from others but had not really heard a success story yet. I sure hope it continues. You are overdue for some positive results!!!! Are you going to try the probiotics? If there is compromised intenstinal stuff going on this can be really helpful. I swear by it, even my husband who doesn't do much of anything else this way swears by it. We did nystatin (drug) for candida years ago, eliminated wheat and dairy and all kinds of diets etc. Think it may have helped things at the time (pre OCD), but good luck now at 17... I asked what he thought about trying to cut out bread for one day, said he'd rather suffer! Ours eats bleached white bread now, and it kills me, just know it can't be good... So glad to hear some good news from you kiddo! Hugs! Barb > > Hi, > My daughter,(now 12) has had sensory issues since infancy, as well as stomach problems. She was diagnosed with OCD at age 5, bipolar at age 6, PDD-NOS at age 8, and a mix of other things in between.(all depending on the doctors) > I will say this gluten free diet is working great. It has worked better than any med she has ever been on, and she has been on 24 different med combinations. > I always thought the diet thing was a " crock " until I actually decided to break down and apply it. > It's not easy, but it's working for her. There is a 90% improvement! !!!! > Hugs > Judy > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __
