Guest guest
My son and I both experienced some tachycardia on SSRIs. For me, it would start 30-60 minutes after taking the medication. Our son was different, just had random episodes. They eventually passed, but to be sure we had an echocardiogram done on his heart, at one point. Since it came back fine, we assumed it was the medication. Not sure about any of the other meds you mentioned, since we have not dealt with it. I hope someone can chime in who does have something to add. That's a lot for a young kid to deal with. ( So sorry. Guest guest
Hi, my first thought is for you to do another post with this info and put in the subject " Ask Dr. Geller " to get his thoughts. Has he also been on the Strattera long, you mentioned 2 years for Concerta? We haven't used ADD meds but am wondering: are they not sort of " fast acting " so that when started, they work that day/week? (unlike the OCD meds) So if you take him off (yes, hate to mess up school, ADD problems increase) and they were causing the problem, would you know the same week or so? Just thinking if you find they are not and doctor says he can go back on them, then it wouldn't be, well, too long a time to have to put up with the ADD. (sorry if that's confusing, it's early a.m.!) Very quick thoughts, > > My 10 year old son has ADD, OCD and Tourettes'; his new psychologist > also feels he may have Aspergers.
