Laboratories

Laurie,

Could you please

forward this to your mailing list?

The Advanced Pain

Management Lab at the ACVS next month will include PST-Vet Pulsed Signal

Therapy, Cold Laser and other modalities.

I think this is

significant in assisting the veterinary community to accept non-invasive

therapies and can do nothing but help the growth of veterinary rehabilitation.

As of Friday there

were still openings.

Thanks.

Joe

Register now to participate in ACVS’ highly

respected laboratories … These popular hands-on laboratories fill fast

Research

has proven that patients in pain have a 23% higher risk of dying

following major surgery. This course (using actual patients and

cadavers) will center on the practical and very newest methods of

managing pain that have been found very effective in decreasing

this startling fact; lowering the risks to near 0% without adding

co-morbidity. Chronic pain and practical and effective treatments

will also be addressed. Modalities taught will include

epidurals, regional blocks, electromagnetic biofeedback resonance,

programmed continuous rate infusions, pulse EM signals, photonics (cold

laser) and others. The laboratory will be divided into six

equal-timed stations with different modalities being addressed on live

dogs and canine cadavers. Registration includes lunch and roundtrip

transportation to Del Mar Fairgrounds and is limited to 40

participants.

capabilities to perform bloodless surgery and the learning curve with

radiosurgery is much shorter. Learn how to perform radiosurgery

incisions, excisions, declaws, tumor removal, ablation, hemostasis,

biopsy, soft palate and many more procedures using meat product. The

convention center is within walking distance of the Manchester Grand

Hyatt; however, transportation will be provided if necessary.

Registration is limited to 25 participants.

The Locking Compression Plate (LCP) is part of a stainless steel plate

and screw system that merges locking screw technology with conventional

plating techniques. Locked compression plate techniques require a new

way of thinking about the internal fixation of fractures. This

laboratory will present the advantages of locking compression plates

and will allow participants to participate in practical sessions

utilizing the new implants on plastic bone models. Faculty members are

AO orthopedic surgeons who have successfully incorporated locking

compression plates into their fracture care treatment plan. The

convention center is within walking distance of the Manchester Grand

Hyatt; however, transportation will be provided if necessary.
