Guest guest
one exercise that i do with my son involves printed out pictures of his fave cartoon characters. i lay them down on the floor face up in a line. i usually do four or five. i have him say each one as i point to it one time and then i turn them over. he has to recall each one in order. but i dont turn them over, instead i take the first one and move it to the end of the line and now he has to repeat the whole process...i point to the first picture in the line (which was previously the second picture in the line) and he has to say which one it is and then i go down the line and now the last one in the line was previously the first one in line. then i do it again with the next picture...i repeat this four or five times and then i turn them over. he picked this up rather surprisingly quickly. weve done up to six characters in a line with about five movements. i also arrange them in triangles and squares and change up the pattern of movement. (my son just turned six and has autism). phil
